I don’t know what the beer selection in England 40 years ago would have been like, sometimes I research these things but this item seemed like a minor detail most people wouldn’t have caught except for me pointing out here. I just got it in my head that Stella is a nice import that’s common enough to come across even in certain seedy bars. Our love interest is trying to impress, you know? So like “hey babe i know it’s just a Stella but the thought behind it is i still got u the nicest beer they had at this dingey bar.” Romantic.

There’s a cameo of Elitist Joe in the backgound. Back when I drew these pages I might have thought of tipping him off about the mild fan art but at this point we’ve exchanged enough interactions for me to know that he “percieves” of me so telling him that he’s made an appearance in my comic now just seems a tad awkward. 
The other notable easter egg is the Vote Sutch sticker.
